Update!

It’s been a minute since I’ve sent an update. It’s been a busy year! A move halfway across the country and starting a new chapter in my life… but now it’s time to get back into the swing of things!

I have been busily working on a draft of the second book in my Tudor suspense series, which is out with readers and fact checkers now. I had the privilege to go to England twice last fall, including to Oxford, where I did some on-the-ground research for this book. It takes place during Elizabeth I’s 1566 progress. I’ll share some of what I learned on my blog. Once I get this draft done, I’ll hopefully have an update on the publication date of the first in the series. Stay tuned!

Also, coming up this month is the biannual Historical Novel Society North America Conference. In addition to being on the planning committee for this year’s conference, I’m also speaking! I’ll be co-presenting with my friend and fellow author, Jen Roberts. We’ll be presenting Seditious, Surprising, and Subversive: Incorporating Women Spies into Historical Fiction on Saturday, June 28th. If you’re attending the conference, please come to our presentation! We hope to have a lively discussion about how to weave suspense into your historical fiction.

Look out for a recap after the conference and more updates on my research and upcoming publication.
